The Spider And The Fly by ~Viva-Hate:iconViva-Hate:

Weary of flight
And none the wise
You know how to tempt me

With romancing arms
Enchanting senses
I lower my defenses

I ask the questions
You weave the answers
And on each word I linger

Caught up inside
This web of lies
Spun tight around your finger

Because when I look in your eyes
I can't seem to fight

And when you drain me dry
I can't seem to fight

Love is blind
But nature has sight
You're the spider
And I am the fly
You will kill me
It's just a matter of time

We can't change this
So why do we try?

I like the concept, it is very different and I thought the verses flowed nicely with the descriptions.

I'm sorry to disappoint...I didn't know I said such philosophical things things all the time. This to me is a poem about love, and I don't think anyone is ever able to truly describe it or combat it with philosophical messages. After reading this again, I see some things I might've missed, I love the concept because of its imagery but I also realized that there is more to just pictures here. It shows that as humans or of any species we are susceptible to anything and that even though we portray ourselves with having barriers surrounding us constantly, those can come down at any given time. And sometimes this fact can destroy us, I think that it is clear that we never really protected all along, and if we try to put up barriers that we thought were there, we find out that we are truly evermore defenseless.
